Alp School

Our school is tucked away in Mandakakkunnu, which is a part of Vettikkattiri here in Malappuram. If you drive down the local roads, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s an ALP school, so we deal with the younger children who are just starting out with their books. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular structure with some classrooms and a small office for the paperwork. We have a few benches outside where parents wait sometimes. Life moves at a slow pace in this area. We focus on making sure the kids learn their Malayalam and basic math without too much stress. The playground gets a bit dusty in the summer months, but the children don't seem to mind it at all. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when it's raining hard and everyone is trying to stay dry inside. Most of us who work here have been around for years, so we’ve seen brothers and sisters from the same families come through our doors one after the other. It feels like a small community project more than anything else. We have the usual school events, nothing too grand, just small gatherings for the kids to show what they've learned. It's just a place for learning and growing up in this corner of Malappuram, and we are quite content with how things are going day to day.
