Larsen & Toubro Limited

Being located on Periyakulam Road in Theni means we are right in the middle of things here in Allinagaram. Our address is 1632, and it’s a familiar spot for most people in this part of town. The weather is usually quite warm, so we’ve got fans going all day long. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but the auto-rickshaws know the way if you tell them where we are. We have a small team here at Larsen & Toubro Limited. Most of the morning is spent checking schedules and making sure the equipment logs are updated. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got a couple of wooden tables and some plastic chairs for when people drop by. It’s not the kind of place with a big sign or bright lights, just a steady workplace where we keep track of the local projects. Sometimes the noise from the road gets a bit loud, especially when the lorries go past, but you get used to it after a week. We usually grab lunch from one of the small mess halls nearby. The food is spicy and keeps us going for the afternoon shift. We don’t really do much in the way of decoration here. There are some old maps on the wall and a calendar that’s usually a few days behind. It’s a simple operation, run by people who live nearby and know the area well. We just keep our heads down and work.
