Our shop is B-564 on Vishwakarma Street. We are right on Gill Road, which most people in this area know is always packed with traffic. If you look across the street from us, you will see the Punjab National Bank. It’s a good landmark for finding where we are. The business is called Vinod Kumar Jiwan Kumar. It is a family name and we have been running things this way for quite a while. The shop itself is packed with items from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit down because there are boxes and stock everywhere. We don't have a team of people in suits; it is just us in our regular clothes helping whoever walks through the door. Gill Road is noisy with the sound of rickshaws and motorbikes constantly zooming past. We usually keep the front open so we can see what is happening outside. Some days are very busy and others are a bit slower, giving us time to organize the shelves a little. We have a small light that flickers sometimes in the back, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It is a simple life and a simple business. We know many of the regulars who bank across the street and stop by here afterward. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood.
