Vijay Karyana Store

We are located on PNB Road, right near Khajor Chowk in the Salem Tabri area of Ludhiana. This is a karyana store, so we mostly deal with the daily food items and household stuff that people need. Vijay started this place to serve the families living in this part of the city. Ludhiana is a very busy place, and Salem Tabri has its own rush. The shop is tucked into a row of other small businesses. We have the usual things like oil, salt, and tea leaves. The front of the store is usually a bit crowded with crates and boxes that just arrived. We do not have a fancy entrance, just the metal shutter that we pull up every morning. The local kids come in after school for candies or small snacks. It gets quite noisy at Khajor Chowk with all the rickshaws and bikes. We know most of the people who live in the lanes behind the shop. It is a simple operation, really. We write down the accounts in a thick register and keep things moving. The ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. We are not trying to be a big supermarket or anything like that. We just want to make sure the neighbors can get their groceries without going too far. It has been our way of life for years now in this neighborhood.
