Thukral General Store

I’ve been at this shop in Noorwala Anadpuri for a long time now. Thukral General Store isn't anything fancy, just a regular place where you can find what you need for the house. I usually open up early when the milk crates arrive and the street is still a bit quiet. It’s a lot of work keeping everything on the shelves organized. We have the usual things like pulses, sugar, some snacks for the kids, and cleaning supplies. Sometimes the tea packets get pushed to the back and I have to spend an hour sorting them out again. People from the neighborhood stop by, mostly to pick up stuff they forgot during their big grocery run. It gets pretty crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. The floor needs a sweep pretty much every two hours because of the dust from the road. I keep a small stool behind the counter but I rarely get a chance to sit on it for long. There’s always someone asking for a specific brand of soap or looking for some change. I try to keep enough stock so I don't have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s just how things go here day after day. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but everyone knows where we are. It’s just a plain life of selling groceries and talking to the regulars about the weather or the local news.
