Sunrise Hosiery Factory

You can find us over at B- 32- 12/722. It is on the next street from GMT School, right at the backside of V. V Export near the Jalandhar Bypass. The factory is usually pretty loud because of the machines running all day long. We started out small and we are still in this same spot. The trucks come and go from the bypass, so there is always some dust in the air. We spend most of our time on the floor checking the machines or seeing what needs fixing. It’s not a fancy place at all. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that isn't really a priority right now. We focus on getting the hosiery work done. Most of the staff live nearby so they just walk or bike in. Lunch breaks are usually spent sitting outside if the weather isn't too hot. We have been in this lane for a long time. Everyone around here knows the spot. When the power goes out, we just sit and wait or use the generator if we have to. It’s just regular factory work. Nothing special about it. We keep track of the orders on a big clipboard by the door. Some days the rhythm of the knitting machines is almost like music, but most days it’s just noise that you stop hearing after nine in the morning.
