Harkirat International

Our shop is located at number 14 in the Sodhi Complex. It’s right on the G.T. Road in Miller Ganj, sitting across from the Ramgaria Gurdwara. Being on such a major road means there is never a moment of silence. You can hear the trucks and buses rattling past all day long. We’ve been in this complex for a good bit of time, and most of the other shopkeepers around here are like old friends. The space inside isn't huge, so we have to be very careful about how we stack our items. It’s a lot of international trade work, which sounds more glamorous than it actually feels when you're counting boxes in the heat. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through paperwork to make sure everything is lined up. The Gurdwara across the street is a good landmark, and sometimes the sound of the prayers drifts over when the traffic dies down for a second. It’s a humble setup, really. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. Just a couple of desks, some chairs for visitors, and lots of files. People drop in because they're passing through Miller Ganj or they have a specific need for what we handle. It's just our little corner of Ludhiana where we try to stay organized and keep the business ticking along despite the dust on the windows and the noise outside.
