Yonex Hosiery

Our place, Yonex Hosiery, is tucked away in Gali No. 4 in Sunder Nagar. It is one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else. We make and sell different hosiery items like socks and undergarments. The building is old and we have been here for quite some time. We have a few knitting machines that run most of the day. It gets pretty warm in the summer because the ventilation isn't the best in these small streets. We pack everything into boxes and send them out to different markets. There are always stacks of cotton and yarn sitting in the corners. We aren't a big factory, just a local setup trying to keep up with the daily orders. Sunder Nagar is a busy place for small businesses like ours. Sometimes the delivery carts have a hard time getting through the lane if someone has parked a bike in the way. We do our own thing and don't worry too much about what others are doing. Most of our workers live nearby and walk to the shop. We drink a lot of tea while we work and talk about whatever is happening in the neighborhood. It is steady work. We don't have a fancy office, just a desk near the door where we handle the bills and the money. It's just a regular way to make a living for us and our families.
