An Knitwear is over in Sunder Nagar. We are right by the Snatan Dharm Mandir. If you get lost, just look for the Holy Child Hospital, we are very close to that building. We make sweaters and other knitted things for people. The shop is small but we fit a lot of machines inside the main room. It gets quite warm in there when everyone is working hard. We use various yarns, mostly wool and cotton blends from the local market. People stop by after visiting the temple sometimes just to see what we are making. We don't have a big storefront, it's more of a production space for us. My cousin helps out with the packing and the deliveries. We’ve been here for several years now. The neighborhood is nice, mostly families and other small shops. Sometimes the yarn deliveries are late and it messes up our whole schedule for the week. We just try to fix it and keep going anyway. We don’t spend money on fancy ads or anything. Mostly people find us by word of mouth or seeing the sign outside. The knitting machines have a specific rhythm you get used to after a while. We do a lot of school uniforms too. It keeps us very busy in the winter months especially. It’s a simple operation. We drink a lot of tea while we work. If you need something knitted, we usually have some samples lying around to look at.
