Sood Karyana Store

Our shop, Sood Karyana Store, is located in Millerganj, Ludhiana. We are at 786/7, 2, right near the Friends Dharam Kanta and the New Cycle Market. This area is always full of trucks and people working in the cycle trade. It’s a very industrial feel around here, with a lot of noise from the machinery and the traffic. We keep all the basic karyana items that the workers and the local families need. The shop is often dusty because of the location, so we are always wiping things down. We don't have any big marketing strategy; we just stay open and wait for customers. Most of our day is spent weighing out pulses or packing sugar into smaller bags. It’s physical work, lifting heavy sacks and moving things around to find what someone asked for. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the Dharam Kanta nearby is a good landmark for people trying to find us. The tea stall next door is where we get our morning chai while we wait for the first customers. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don't have fancy lights or air conditioning. It’s just a solid, old-fashioned store where we just sell things for the usual prices. We don't talk much, just get the job done and keep the accounts straight in our registers. It is a busy life in Millerganj and we stay until the sun goes down.
