R. N. Oswal Hosiery Factory

Our factory, R. N. Oswal Hosiery, is situated on Circular Road in the Shivpuri area of Ludhiana. We are located right behind the Ved Mandir, which is a well-known landmark around here. You can hear the prayers and the bells from the temple throughout the day, which provides a nice background to the sound of our hosiery machines. Circular Road is one of the busiest streets in this part of Ludhiana, so there’s a constant stream of trucks and rickshaws moving past. Our factory building is an older one, made of brick and mortar that has seen many seasons. Inside, it’s all about the knitting and the finishing of hosiery items. We have rows of machines that take up most of the floor space, leaving just enough room for the workers to move between them. The lighting is a bit yellow and old-fashioned, but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time making sure the thread is right and the machines don’t jam up. Since we are behind the temple, the entrance is tucked away a bit, making it slightly quieter than the main road. We don't have a big marketing department or any glossy brochures. People in the trade know where we are and what we do. We just focus on the daily production and making sure the factory runs smoothly from one day to the next. It’s a steady life in a busy part of the city.
