S. S. Vardhman Knitwears

S. S. Vardhman Knitwears is situated at No. 4701 in Sunder Nagar. We are right near the Jain Asthanak, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood compared to the big industrial zones, and we like it that way. We have a small workshop where we do all our knitting. There are three or four of us here most days. We have a couple of large windows that let in the light, which helps when we are working with dark-colored yarns. The place isn't very big, so we have to be careful about where we put things. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling to hold the different types of wool and thread. Sometimes the cats from the neighborhood come in and sit on the yarn, and we have to shoo them away. We aren't a big corporation with managers and departments. If something needs to be done, we just do it ourselves. We spend a lot of time just making sure the patterns are coming out right. It’s a steady kind of work. We don't have any flashy marketing or brochures. If people like what we make, they tell their friends, and that’s how we get by. We’ve been here for a long time and the locals know us well. It’s just a simple, honest way to make a living and we take pride in the items we finish each day.
