Rose Marie Knitwears

Sunder Nagar is a quiet enough place compared to some other parts of the city. We are at number 19, and that is where Rose Marie Knitwears happens. Mostly we are surrounded by yarn, finished sweaters, and pieces that still need a bit of work. It’s a bit cluttered if I’m being honest, but we know where everything is. My family and I have been doing this for a while. We started small and stayed that way because we like being able to see every piece that goes out. Some mornings it’s just the sound of the machines or someone clicking knitting needles. We don't have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. One day I might be packing boxes and the next I’m talking to someone about a specific pattern they want. We use simple tools and try to make things that actually last. People in the neighborhood know us by now. They stop in when the weather starts to get a bit chilly. We don't have a website with fancy photos or anything. We just show people what we have on the racks. It’s practical work. Sometimes we make mistakes and have to start a sleeve over again, but that’s just part of working with wool. Sunder Nagar is a nice place to work from. It feels more like a community here than a business district.
