If you’ve ever driven down G T Road, you know it never really sleeps. Our place is at 144 on the first floor, which gives us a bit of a view of all the trucks and cars passing by at all hours. Ramesh Lakhanpal has been at this address for a long time, and we’ve become used to the constant sound of the highway. Being on the first floor is nice because we’re just a flight of stairs up from the street, so it’s easy for people to pop in. The office itself is nothing special to look at. We have some old wooden desks and chairs that have been with us since the beginning. It feels lived-in, with stains on the floor and walls that probably need a fresh coat of paint. We don’t worry too much about that stuff, though, as long as the work gets finished. It gets quite dusty because of the road, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the tables. We handle things in a very old-fashioned way, writing things down in ledgers and talking to people directly. There’s no fancy software or high-tech gadgets around here. Most people who come to see us are regulars who have been using our services for years. We like the familiarity of it. When the sun starts to set over G T Road, it’s actually quite a nice spot to sit for a minute before heading home. It’s just a regular local business. We don't mind the noise much anymore.
