R. K. Gautam Hosiery

R. K. Gautam Hosiery is located right in Street Number 2 of Old Madhopuri. This is an old area and the lanes are very narrow, so it can be a bit of a squeeze if you are trying to bring a big vehicle through. Most of the time, we just use handcarts or carry things out to the main road. Our shop is a small, functional space that we have been using for a long time. This neighborhood is full of hosiery businesses, so you can always hear the sound of machines coming from the buildings around us. We don't have a fancy showroom or big glass windows. Our space is mostly filled with racks of finished hosiery and bags of raw materials. It is a bit cluttered, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We spend our days sorting through the stock and making sure the orders are ready for the local markets. Sometimes the tea seller comes around and we take a five-minute break on the steps outside. We don't do any big advertising or have a corporate mission. We just make the hosiery and sell it to the people who need it. It is a very local way of doing business, based on long-standing relationships with the people in the area. The building is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We are just regular people making a living in Old Madhopuri.
