We've been here at shop number 8 and 9 for a good while now. It’s right in Grewal Market, which stays pretty busy most days. If you know the water tank in Village Tajpur, we are just a stone's throw from there, right near the Mehandi Palace landmark. Usually, you’ll find us busy with the stock or talking to some of the regulars who come by from the Tajpur Road area. It gets quite loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on getting the orders sorted. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy at all. We mostly deal with trading different things that people in the neighborhood need. Some days the shop is a bit of a mess because a new shipment just came in and we haven’t had time to stack everything properly yet. My brother helps out sometimes when things get really hectic. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. Most people just walk in because they saw the sign or heard about us from someone else in the village. It’s been a steady way to make a living. The sun hits the shop front pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to keep it cool. We keep a kettle in the back for when visitors stop by for a chat, which happens quite a bit. We just try to get the work done and go home. Sometimes we stay late if a truck is delayed.
