Pioneer Cranes & Elevators

If you're driving down Gill Road, you'll see us right across from Arora Palace. Pioneer Cranes & Elevators has been in this spot for quite some time. We deal with lifting gear and those sorts of things. The shop floor is usually crowded with parts and old motors. It's a bit of a maze sometimes. We don't have a receptionist sitting at a desk. Usually, one of us will just look up from whatever we're welding or fixing. It’s a loud environment. Hammers, grinders, that kind of thing. The neighborhood is full of small shops, so it gets pretty lively. We keep the doors open mostly to let some air in. People come by with all sorts of requests. Some need a small part, others want a whole system looked at. We take things as they come. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit around and wait for it to come back. It's part of working here. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to finish the job so we can go home. The guys in the back have been together for years. We know each other's habits. It makes the day go by faster. We don't use much fancy software. Most things are written in a ledger or on a scrap of paper. Sometimes we lose the pens, which is a bit of a headache, but we find them eventually. It's just a normal shop on a busy street.
