If you drive down Chandigarh Road near Kohara, you’ll see our spot. N P Crane Service is basically just a few of us who know how to handle these big machines. It gets pretty loud out here with all the trucks passing by on the main road. We keep the cranes parked where they are easy to get out fast. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when it’s raining and the ground gets all muddy, but we manage. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to do the job and go home. Most of our work is local, right here around Chandigarh Road. We’ve known the neighbors for years. There isn’t much to say about us that you can’t see by just looking at the yard. There are tools laying around and maybe an old tire or two. We do our own maintenance mostly because we like to know the machines are solid. My brother and I started this quite some time ago. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting, then a lot of rush when a call comes in. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just lift stuff that people can't move themselves. It's a living. We keep it straightforward and don't make things complicated. Usually we have a dog sitting by the gate too who watches the trucks go by.
