Pal Departmental Store

We’ve been here at Basti Jodhewal Chowk on Rahon Road for quite some time now. Pal Departmental Store is basically just a place where we keep the things people in this part of town need every day. It gets pretty loud and dusty out there by the chowk with all the trucks and rickshaws going past, but inside we just focus on getting the shelves filled. We don't have anything fancy going on, just the usual stuff like soap, flour, and some snacks. Sometimes the delivery comes late or we run out of something popular, but we try to keep up. It’s a family thing really, so you’ll usually see one of us behind the counter from early morning until we shut the lights off at night. The regulars know where everything is better than we do sometimes. It’s just how it is. We don’t spend much time thinking about being a big business, we just want to make sure the neighbors can get what they need without having to go too far into the city. Rahon Road is always busy, so we stay on our toes. Sometimes we sit on the stools and talk to whoever walks in, mostly about the weather or the traffic outside. It's a simple life running this shop. We don’t do big ads or anything like that. People just know we are here at the corner. We keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in.
