National Soap Mills

We have been here at Village Pawa on G.T. Road for quite a while now. Our place is right near the civil airport, so we hear the planes coming in all day while we work. National Soap Mills is just what the name says. We make soap. It is a messy job most of the time, but someone has to do it. The factory floor gets slippery and smells like whatever fragrance we happen to be using that week. Most of us live nearby and walk or bike to work every morning. Dealing with the traffic on G.T. Road is probably the hardest part of the day for everyone. We have these machines that mix everything up and then we cut the bars and wrap them up for delivery. It is repetitive work, but there is something nice about seeing stacks of clean soap ready to go out to the stores. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that here. There is just a desk in the corner where the paperwork gets done. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit and wait a bit, but that is just how it is around here. We try to keep things running smooth so the shops get their orders on time. The noise from the airport can get loud, but you get used to it after a month or two. We just keep our heads down and focus on making sure the batches turn out right for our customers.
