Narang Provision Stores

We have been here in Civil Line for quite some time now at Narang Provision Stores. It's just a regular shop where we keep all the daily things people need for their houses. The shelves are usually full of pulses, rice, and snacks, though sometimes we run out of things if the truck is late. It gets really busy in the mornings when everyone wants their milk and bread before heading to work. My father started this and now I spend most of my day behind the counter. The shop isn't very big but we know most of the people who walk in by their first names. Civil Line has changed a lot over the years, more traffic now, but our spot stays the same. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that, just normal tubelights and a wooden counter that has seen better days. Usually, there is a bit of dust because of the road outside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning things up. It's honest work, keeping track of inventory and making sure the bags are packed right. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in for a single piece of candy and stay to chat. I think it is important to just be here every day from eight to eight. People know where to find us. If you walk past the main corner, you’ll see the sign. It’s nothing special to look at, but it’s where we are every single day.
