We are located on G T Road West. Being on the Grand Trunk Road means there are trucks and cars going by at all hours. It is a loud place but it is where all the action is. Nagesh Knitwears has been operating from this site for quite some time. We are not a small shop; it is a private limited company but it does not feel like a big cold corporation. Most of us have worked here for years. We know the sound of every machine in the building. In the winter months, it gets really busy because everyone wants sweaters and knits. We see the raw yarn come in and the finished pieces go out in big boxes. The floor is concrete and the walls are painted a simple white that has seen better days. We do not have a fancy lobby or anything. You just walk in and you are right there where the work happens. The office is just a small partitioned area with some old wooden desks and a lot of files. We focus on the knitting. If the machines are running well, we are happy. Sometimes we have tea breaks together and talk about the news or the weather. It is honest work. We do not put on any acts for anyone. We just make knitwear and try to keep up with the orders that come down the road. It is just life at the factory.
