Monu General Store

Our shop is right by the railway line in Ranjit Nagar, not far from Sherpur Chowk. We have been here at number 392 for a while now. Most people stop by when they are heading home or walking toward the chowk. It is just a regular place where we keep the usual things folks need for their houses every day. It is not a huge or fancy place, just a simple store with shelves and a counter. We open up pretty early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Usually, I am the one opening the heavy shutters while the city is still waking up. Most days it is just us handling the customers and putting things back on the shelves when they run out. It gets a bit loud sometimes when the trains pass so close to the back, but you get used to that sound after a week or two. We try to keep the basics like flour, sugar, and soaps always on hand so nobody in the neighborhood has to walk too far into the main market. The area around here is always busy, and we just fit right into the middle of it. We do not have fancy displays or bright lights. It is just wooden shelves and a counter where we chat with neighbors about the weather. If you live around Ranjit Nagar, you probably know where we sit. We just do our work and go home.
