Monga Shawls Emporium

Our shop is right in the heart of Mochpura Bazar at Shop No. 329. We are very close to the Wool Market in Ludhiana. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how busy it gets, especially when the weather starts to turn cold. The whole area smells like wool and winter clothes. We have been selling shawls here for years. The shop is small and packed with different designs. We have them folded on shelves from the floor to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside. People come from all over to find something warm. We don't have a big sign or bright lights. Most people find us because they’ve been coming here for a long time or someone told them about us. It gets very crowded in the winter months. We spend all day unfolding shawls for customers to look at and then folding them back up perfectly. It’s a lot of work for the hands. My father started this place, and we just keep it going the same way he did. We sit on the floor sometimes when we are sorting the new stock. It’s a traditional way of doing things. The bazar is loud and full of energy, with tea sellers and other shopkeepers always around. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It’s a good, honest life in the market.
