Ss Malhotra Hosiery Works

We've been tucked away at No. 712 Mohalla Saidan in the Chhati Gali for a lot of years now. It’s a busy little spot, and the street gets quite crowded with people and carts moving around. Our hosiery work keeps us occupied from early morning until late evening. It isn't a massive factory or anything like that, just a regular workshop where we get things done. My family has been doing this for a long time, so we just stick to what we know. The machines make a lot of noise, and there’s always lint in the air, but that’s just how it is. We spend most of our time checking the stitching and making sure the yarn is the right quality. Sometimes a machine breaks down and I have to spend the afternoon with a wrench in my hand. It’s just me and a small group of guys from the local area. We don’t really have a big office or anything fancy. If you come by, you’ll probably find me sitting at the wooden desk near the entrance or helping out on the floor. We make various types of hosiery items, mostly for local shops. The work is repetitive but it’s what pays the bills. We don’t bother with fancy brochures. People know where we are if they need us. It’s dusty and loud, but it’s home for us. We just keep working through the orders as they come.
