Our shop is at No. 1419 on Gokal Road, right near the Mochpura Bazar. If you know Ludhiana, you know how busy this area gets, especially when the weather starts to turn cold. We have been here for a long time and the building shows its age a bit, but it’s sturdy. The shelves are packed high with shawls of all different patterns and weights. It smells a bit like wool and old wood in here, which I think is quite nice. During the peak season, the bazar outside is packed with people and we barely have time to sit down. We spend most of our day unfolding shawls for people to look at and then folding them back up neatly. It is a bit of a struggle to keep everything organized when it gets hectic. Sometimes the tea we order from the stall across the street gets cold before we can drink it because we are so busy talking to suppliers. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we mostly write everything down in big ledgers with a pen. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the store, so we have to bring things to the front to see the colors clearly. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it has worked for us for years and we don't see a reason to change. We just keep selling our shawls.
