Messers Karyana Store

Messers Karyana Store is a pretty straightforward place located at B-133 in Salem Tabri, right near the busy Bhagat Singh Chowk in Ludhiana. We open the doors early in the morning so that people can pick up their milk and fresh bread on their way to work. The shop is packed with all kinds of daily necessities, from big containers of cooking oil to small sachets of shampoo. It’s not a very modern setup. The floor is just plain concrete and the shelves are made of wood we’ve had for years. We have a lot of customers who have been coming to us for a long time. We know exactly what they usually want, which makes things easier. Sometimes, when a new shipment arrives, the shop gets a bit cluttered with boxes and sacks piled up in the corners. You might have to navigate around a few bags of sugar to get to the front counter. We don't have any corporate mission statements or fancy goals. We just want to make sure the people in Salem Tabri can get their groceries without any trouble. In the quiet parts of the day, we usually sit on a bench outside and watch the busy traffic go by the chowk. It’s a lot of work keeping everything stocked and the accounts in order, but it’s a steady life for us. We like being a part of this neighborhood and seeing the same familiar faces every single day.
