Open the shutters around 8 am and Field Ganj is already waking up. We carry a bit of everything because that is what people expect around here. Some days are just constant back and forth with the suppliers and people asking for things we just sold out of. It is not a big fancy place, just shelves and a counter where we spend most of the day. You see the same faces every morning. Some stop to talk about the weather or the traffic, which is usually a mess in this part of town. We keep the registers going and try to stay organized, even if the back room gets a bit cluttered sometimes. It is just how a general store works. You learn where every single item is after a few years, even the tiny things hidden in the corners. The ceiling fan hums all day. We drink tea when there is a quiet moment, which isn't often. Field Ganj has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of that daily bustle. It gets dusty, and the noise from the street never really stops until late at night. We do not have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure things run okay and the locals get what they need for their homes. Nothing complicated, just a normal shop doing its thing day after day. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who walk through the door.
