Lovely Knitwears is located at E-10 6799/4 on Street No: 1 in Veer Nagar, which is just off Bahadur Ke Road. If you know Ludhiana, you know that Bahadur Ke Road is a major hub for this kind of work. Street No: 1 is a bit narrower, and finding the exact number can be a bit of a puzzle the first time you visit. Our unit is E-10, and it’s usually humming with the sound of knitting machines. It gets quite busy inside, especially when we are in the middle of a big run. There are bags of yarn piled up in the corners and finished pieces waiting to be sorted. The air is always a bit full of lint, but that’s standard for a knitwear place. We aren't a high-end boutique; we are a working factory floor. Most of the people here have been working these machines for a long time and they know exactly how they sound when something is off. Veer Nagar is a tight-knit community of workers and small owners. We have our tea together and talk about the local news while the machines keep going. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the pieces knitted and packed. The traffic on Bahadur Ke Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, but we just wait it out or take the back lanes. It’s just another day at the shop for us.
