Like Knitting Wear

Being right on the G.T. Road Bye Pass in Hira Nagar isn't always quiet. In fact, it's pretty loud most of the day with the trucks going past. We are right near Dutta Tyre, so if you smell a bit of rubber in the air, that’s probably why. Like Knitting Wear started out small and stayed that way, mostly because we like knowing everyone who works here. We have these old knitting machines that make a specific rhythmic clicking sound all morning. Sometimes they get jammed and we have to spend an hour messing with the gears to get them going again. It’s dusty work, and there’s always bits of thread stuck to our clothes when we head home. The office part is just a small partitioned area with a fan that squeaks every time it turns. We don’t really do fancy meetings or anything. Most of the time, we’re just checking the quality of the fabric or talking to the delivery drivers who stop by. The tea stall down the road brings over a tray around eleven, and that’s when we usually take a break. It’s a simple operation at this address. People sometimes miss the turn because of the construction on the bypass, but we’ve got a small sign up now. It’s just a place where we put in the hours and make sure the bundles are ready for pickup on time.
