Laljit Hosiery

Sunder Nagar is a nice area and our shop, Laljit Hosiery, is at No. 453. It’s a straightforward place where we sell basic stuff like socks, innerwear, and simple knits that people use every day. We don’t have a big fancy sign, just the name painted on the front. I’ve been working here for years and I know most of the people who walk past the door on their way to work. The mornings are usually slow, so that’s when I do all the inventory counting and checking. It’s a lot of small items to keep track of and sometimes I lose count. Boxes often get stacked so high you can’t see the back wall of the storage area. We try to keep things tidy but when a big shipment arrives, everything goes a bit crazy for a day or two. The floor is old tile and it’s a bit cracked in the corners near the door. We don't mind it much because it feels like home to us. My nephew comes in to help with the computer stuff because I’m not very good with the modern systems. We usually eat lunch in the tiny back room while listening to the noise from the street. It’s a busy road but we like the energy of the neighborhood. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide what people need for their daily lives and keep the shop running as best as we can.
