Kunal Handicarfts

Kunal Handicarfts is located inside the Saidan Gate at Kade Shah Chowk. It’s one of those spots that’s a bit hidden away unless you know where you’re going. The gate itself is quite famous locally, so that helps people find the general area. Once you’re inside the chowk, things get a bit more crowded with all the little shops and houses packed together. We’ve been doing this for years, mostly sticking to the same kind of handmade goods that we’ve always made. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a door and a small window, but inside it’s full of tools and unfinished pieces. We work mostly with our hands and a few simple machines that have been around as long as we have. It’s not a fast process, and we aren't trying to compete with the big stores. We just do what we know. Often you’ll hear the sound of hammering or scraping coming from the back while we work. We don't have much of a sales pitch or a fancy way of showing things off. If someone wants something, they just come in and look at what we’ve got on the shelves. It’s a simple setup, and it suits us just fine. Most days are the same, just chipping away at orders and talking to the people who stop by for a chat or to see what’s new.
