Guru Nanak Purse Gallery

You will find Guru Nanak Purse Gallery in Karimpura Bazar. We are right across from Chawla Boot House in the Field Ganj area. It is a very busy market and our shop is tucked right into the middle of it. We mostly have purses and handbags for women. We carry everything from small fancy ones for weddings to big bags for shopping. We don’t have any big neon signs. People just find us by the bags hanging outside the door. The street is quite narrow so it gets very crowded during the holidays. We spend most of our day moving things around to make room. New designs come in almost every week and we have to find a spot for them. It’s a family business so one of us is always around. We don’t use any fancy computers. We keep track of everything in a big ledger book with a pen. We know most of our customers by their names because they’ve been coming here for years. Karimpura is the place people go when they want these kinds of things. We try to keep our prices fair so they keep coming back. The tea stall nearby brings us tea twice a day and that’s when we relax for a bit. It’s a loud and busy job but we like being part of the bazaar life.
