Arjan Singh & Sons

Our workshop, Arjan Singh & Sons, is situated at 472 in Industrial Area B. We’ve been in this part of the city for a long time, back when there weren't as many units as there are now. It’s a family thing, started by my father, and we just kept it going. The area is quite dusty and noisy because of all the heavy machinery running in the neighboring buildings. Our place is no different. We have a lot of old tools and some newer equipment spread across the floor. The roof leaks a tiny bit when there is a heavy monsoon rain, so we have to move some of the finished pieces to the back. We've been meaning to fix it for years. It’s a working space, so don't expect it to be clean or polished. There is usually grease on the floor and the smell of metal in the air. We do a lot of fabrication and repair work for other businesses nearby. Most of the guys working here have been with us for years. We aren't the type to have a big office or a reception desk. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to walk right into the middle of the shop and find someone who isn't wearing earplugs. It’s hard work, and the summers in the industrial area are really hot, but we like the independence of it.
