Khalsa Ubhi Engg Works

Khalsa Ubhi Engg Works is located at 4574 Shimlapuri, right across from Daljit Cooler. If you see the big stacks of coolers over there, you know you’re in the right place. Our workshop is usually full of the sound of machines running and people shouting over the noise to be heard. It’s a busy part of town and the street outside is always cluttered with parked bikes and delivery trucks. We spend most of our time bent over workbenches or checking the alignment of different parts. My shirt is usually covered in oil by noon, and that’s just part of the job. There isn't much room for sitting around here because every inch of the floor is taken up by machinery or raw materials. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just know how to handle the equipment and how to fix things when they break down. The heat can get pretty bad in the middle of the summer, but we keep the fans going as much as we can. It’s a gritty, noisy place to work, but it feels good to finish a project and see it ready to go out the door. We’ve been in Shimlapuri for a while and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we just keep doing our thing every day without much fuss.
