It’s one of those narrow streets where everyone knows everyone else. We’ve been operating here for a good while. Our building is simple, and the work we do inside is even simpler. We make garments. The street can be quite lively, with kids playing and vendors passing by, which we can hear through the open windows while we work. We don't have a big corporate office or a shiny showroom. It’s just a room full of sewing machines and a lot of fabric. Some days it feels like we are drowning in cloth, but we manage to get through it. The lighting isn't always perfect, and it can get quite warm when all the machines are running at once, but we use a few old fans to keep the air moving. Chhawani Mohalla is a tight-knit place, and being part of this community is just how it is for us. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most of our work comes from people knowing we are here on Street No. 3. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but we’re used to the grind. We just focus on getting the stitching right and finishing the batches so they can be sent out on time to whoever needs them.
