Jaggu Karyana Store

If you go down to Salem Tabri in Ludhiana, you will find Jaggu Karyana Store at 347/154/A/2. We are situated right near Chandni Chowk, which is a landmark most folks around here recognize pretty easily. The shop is a typical karyana setup, packed with everything from loose spices to big tins of ghee. It’s a noisy area with a lot of cycles and rickshaws passing by all day long. Inside, it’s usually a bit cooler than out on the street, though the air can get heavy with the smell of different grains. We spend our mornings weighing out bags of sugar and tying up small packets of spices. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands are usually covered in some kind of flour or dust by noon. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy dealing with the deliveries that come in.
