Harmeet Singh

I go by my name, Harmeet Singh, for the business here. I am located right inside the Model Town Market. It’s a very busy place especially in the evenings when everyone comes out to do their daily shopping. My shop is tucked away a bit further in than the main entrance but if you keep walking past the fruit sellers you will see me. I have been in Model Town for most of my life so I know the market inside and out. The shop itself is quite small. I mostly keep my tools and some spare parts on the shelves near the back. It’s not a fancy setup with air conditioning or anything like that. I just have a couple of fans that stay on all day long to keep the air moving. I usually open up around ten in the morning after I’ve had my breakfast and tea. My son comes by sometimes after school to help me organize things but mostly I work alone. The market can get quite loud with all the people talking and the scooters zooming by but I don't mind it much anymore. I’ve lived here so long that the noise just feels like home to me. I don't bother with brochures or business cards. If someone needs my help they usually just ask around and someone points them to my door. It’s a simple way to live and work. I hope to stay here as long as I can, serving the people I've known for a long time.
