Harinder General Store

If you know the Metro Vali Gali area on G T Road in Ludhiana, then you have probably walked past Harinder General Store. We are located right across from that lane. It is a busy part of town and I have been here for years. The shop is filled with all sorts of things, from snacks to cleaning supplies. I try to keep the inventory moving, but sometimes things sit on the shelf for a bit longer than I’d like. That is just how a small business works. I do not spend money on fancy displays or lighting. I would rather just have the items people ask for. My mornings usually start with checking the milk crates and making sure the floor is swept. It is a lot of manual work. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving boxes around. Ludhiana is a fast city, everyone is always in a hurry. I see people rushing to work and dropping in for a quick pack of biscuits or cigarettes. I do not have a big team, mostly it is just me and sometimes a nephew helps out when he isn't at college. The space is a bit cramped, especially when we get a fresh shipment of flour bags. You have to squeeze through the aisle sometimes. But it is a friendly place. I like to think I know what my neighbors need before they even ask. It’s just how we do things here on the main road.
