Harbhajan Karyana Stores

Harbhajan Karyana Stores is situated in Abdullapur Basti. We are right by the Parvati Over Bridge on Sinhagad Road, at house number 2296/9A. Being near the bridge means there is a constant hum of engines overhead. Our shop is a typical karyana store, so we carry all the grains, pulses, and household items that families need. The bags of rice and flour are usually stacked near the entrance. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to carry a bit of everything. The light comes in through the front door since we don't have many windows. We’ve been running this place for years, and the wooden counters are starting to show their age with a few scratches and dents. We know which neighbors prefer which brand of tea or oil. The Sinhagad Road area is always busy, and sometimes people park their scooters right out front to run in for a quick item. We have a small scale for weighing out the loose spices and lentils. It’s a lot of work keeping everything organized, especially when the new stock arrives on Tuesdays. We don't have any fancy computer systems; we just write things down and remember most of it. It’s a practical shop for practical people. The Abdullapur Basti community is tight-knit, and we feel like we are a part of the daily life for many families living around here. We just keep things moving as best as we can.
