Dham Hosiery Works

Our place, Dham Hosiery Works, is situated at E-723 in Focal Point Phase-8, right along the Chandigarh Road. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s mostly factories and big trucks rumbling by at all hours. It’s a bit dusty outside because of all the construction and the traffic, but inside we keep things as tidy as we can for the knitting work. We deal with hosiery, so there are a lot of machines running all the time. The hum of the equipment becomes like background noise after a while. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Most people who come here are looking for the specific unit number in the Focal Point area. The work is steady and repetitive, but that’s just how hosiery goes. We have a small crew and everyone has their own job, from watching the threads to packing up the final items. Lunchtime is usually when it gets quiet for a bit, and we all sit around the back to eat. Chandigarh Road is always busy, which makes it easy for getting our supplies in, even if the traffic is a headache. We’ve been in Phase-8 for some time now and have seen the area grow up around us. It’s a solid place to work if you don’t mind the industrial feel of the neighborhood. We just do our shifts, handle the daily tasks, and head home when the sun goes down.
