You can find Deetex Knitwears over on Street No. 8 in Guru Nanak Dev Nagar. We are just off Rahon Road. It’s a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the turn-off. We’ve been making knitwear in this building for quite some time. The machines make a lot of noise throughout the day, so it's never really quiet here. We are a small team of local people who know how to work the looms. It’s a dusty job and our clothes are always covered in lint by the end of the shift. We don't have a fancy office. Most of the space is taken up by the knitting machines and the finished goods waiting to be packed. Rahon Road is usually busy with trucks and rickshaws, so getting deliveries in and out can be a struggle sometimes. We don't really bother with big marketing campaigns. We just make the sweaters and other items and sell them to the wholesalers who know where we are. It’s hard work and the hours can be long during the winter season. We take pride in what we do even if it's just a small operation in Guru Nanak Dev Nagar. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, but we’ve got buckets for that. It’s just a normal workplace with normal people trying to earn a living day by day.
