Bedi Knits

Our business, Bedi Knits, is tucked away in Street No. 6 of Guru Nanak Dev Nagar, over in the Basti Jodhewal area. It is a neighborhood where a lot of people are doing similar types of work. We focus on knitted items here. The sound of the knitting machines is something you just get used to after being here for an hour. It is a family-run kind of thing for the most part. We spend the morning setting the machines up and the rest of the day making sure the production is moving along like it should. Basti Jodhewal is a tight-knit area and we know most of the people on our street. Our workspace is not very big, so we have to be careful about where we stack the yarn and the finished pieces. It can get a bit hectic when we have a lot of orders to finish at the same time. We do not really do much in the way of fancy displays or anything like that. Most of the time, we are just busy working on the floor or checking the threads. It is a practical way to live and work. We have lived in this part of town for a long time, so setting up the business here just made sense to us. People know where to find us if they need something made. We just keep doing what we know, year after year, and hope the machines stay running.
