Defence

This office is located right near the Jagraon Bridge in Ludhiana, and it stays quite busy from early morning until we close up. Most people around here know exactly where we are because of the landmark. As the recruiting office for the army, we see a lot of young guys coming through these doors with a lot of energy and questions. It is a plain building, pretty much what you would expect from a government spot. There are benches outside where people wait their turn, sometimes in the heat or the rain, depending on the season. We spend a lot of our time checking documents and making sure everything is in order for the recruitment process. It is not a desk job where you sit in total silence; there is always shouting from the grounds or people asking questions at the gate. The director and the rest of the staff have a lot of paperwork to move through every single week. We have been at this location for a long time, so the routine is pretty set. The fans hum overhead while we go through the piles of files. It is dusty sometimes because of all the traffic near the bridge, but that is just how it is in this part of Ludhiana. We do not have any fancy decorations on the walls, just the necessary notices and maps. It is a practical place for a practical job. We just focus on getting through the lists and making sure the day goes as planned.
