Finding us isn’t always easy if you aren’t used to the 100 Feet Road area. We are tucked away over here near Skillman Road in Mehtan. The shop stays busy with the CNC machines humming in the background all day long. It’s a different kind of sound than a regular workshop, more of a steady whine that you eventually stop noticing. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and checking measurements. Precision is part of the job, but it’s still just a regular day's work at the end of the day. The tea breaks are usually the highlight of the afternoon when we can step outside away from the oil smell for a few minutes. Kapurthala G T Road gets quite hectic, especially during the second stage shifts when everyone is heading home at once. We’ve got a small crew here, and most of us have been working these machines for years. We don’t do a lot of talking while the programs are running. You just keep an eye on things and make sure nothing goes sideways. The floor gets oily, so you have to watch your step. We don’t have a big sign out front or anything, just the work happening inside. It’s practical work. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet, which is always a bit strange after hearing the machines all morning. Then we just sit and wait it out until things come back on and we can finish.
