Rosy Hosiery Mills

Down on Dewan Nihal Chand Road in the Civil Lines area, you can find us at No. 144. Rosy Hosiery Mills has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. Civil Lines is usually a bit quieter than the rest of the city, but we still have our fair share of traffic. The mill is a busy place once the machines start running. It’s a rhythmic sound that you just get used to after a while. We spend our days surrounded by hosiery in various stages of being finished. There is always a lot of lint in the air, so we have to keep the fans going. No. 144 is a good solid building. It’s got high ceilings which is nice because it doesn't feel too stuffy when we are working hard. We have a small area in the front where we keep the finished goods and a much larger space in the back for the actual production. I’ve spent many years walking these floors. You get to know every crack in the concrete. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements. People around here just know us by the name and the address on Dewan Nihal Chand Road. We just keep our heads down and make sure the machines are oiled and the hosiery is moving out the door. It is just what we do every day. The gate out front has a bit of rust on it and it squeaks. We usually have lunch together on the back steps.
