Chhabra Kiryana Store

Chhabra Kiryana Store is located in Model Town, Ludhiana, which is a pretty busy part of the city. We have been here for a long time, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. My father used to run this place, and now I am the one opening the locks every morning. We deal in all kinds of kiryana items like spices, dried fruits, and pantry staples. The winters here in Ludhiana are cold, so we usually have a small heater running behind the counter while we wait for customers. People in Model Town are quite particular about the quality of their pulses and rice, so we make sure to get good stock from our suppliers. The store is usually packed with boxes because there is never enough storage space. Sometimes I spend hours just counting packets and checking expiry dates. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps the business going. We have many families who have been our customers for three generations now. They come in and tell us stories about the old days while I pack their groceries. It is a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a while. We don't do any big advertising, people just know where we are. It’s a simple, honest way to earn a living here.
