Chawla General Store

My family has been running Chawla General Store for quite some time now. We are located at Shop Number-1862/10, right on the Main Market Road in Janakpuri here in Ludhiana. If you know where Sachdeva Dental Clinic is, we are just opposite that. It is a busy street and there is always something going on outside the shop. We open early in the morning because that is when people come by to get things before work or school starts. Ludhiana gets really dusty and hot in the summers so we spend a lot of time just keeping the place clean and making sure things stay fresh on the shelves. It is not a very big shop but we try to keep a bit of everything that people around here might need in their kitchens or for their houses. Sometimes the delivery trucks take up a lot of space on the road and it gets a bit chaotic outside our door. We know most of our regulars by name and their usual orders too. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Just the basic stuff on the racks where people can see them easily. Sometimes we run out of things if the supply is late but that is just how it goes. We just keep moving every day. It's a simple life running a store in this part of town and we have gotten used to the noise from the main road.
