India Jackets

India Jackets is located in Chawal Bazar, right opposite Jalota Hosiery. This part of town is always full of people trading and moving goods. Chawal Bazar has a very specific energy to it that you don’t find anywhere else. Our place is right in the thick of it. We spend our days surrounded by boxes and the sound of people bargaining outside. Across the way, the folks at Jalota Hosiery are always busy too, so there’s a sense of everyone working hard together. Our office is pretty basic. We have a counter where we talk to people and a back area where we store everything. The floor is made of old stone, and it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We don’t use any complicated systems to run things. We mostly rely on notebooks and our own memory to keep track of what’s going on. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when several deliveries arrive at once, but we manage to sort it out. We’ve been here long enough that the other shopkeepers are like friends. We share news and talk about the weather while we wait for the next customer. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, without all the bells and whistles of modern offices. We like the grit of the bazaar and the fact that every day is a little bit different from the last one.
