You can find Puneet Knitwear down Gali No. 1 in the Beantpura area, right off Chandigarh Road. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the lane, especially when we’re getting deliveries. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s a family-style setup here, nothing too formal. We mostly deal with knitted goods, so there are always sweaters and wool piles sitting around in various stages of completion. The light in the front room isn't the best, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend our days mostly at the benches or checking the machines. It’s not a high-tech operation, just honest work with our hands. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life on Chandigarh Road. We don't have a website or anything like that because we know our regulars and they know where to find us. If you walk past, you’ll hear the hum of the knitting machines going. It’s a steady pace. We take a lunch break together usually, sitting on the stools near the back. It’s a small space, but we make it work for everything we need to do. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth has always been enough for us. Just a local shop doing what we know how to do. The neighbors know us well.
